Research Area A: ‘Geometry of Differential Operators: From Local to Global Properties’

The focus of the research area is on partial differential equations and differential operators, geometry and harmonic analysis. They enjoy multiple, diverse and rich relations. Instances include noncommutative harmonic analysis on locally symmetric spaces and singular manifolds where Laplacians and Dirac operators link local and global properties, as well as

  • the spectrum,
  • geometric and topological properties,
  • analysis on nonlinear structures and a
  • geometric or harmonic analysis view on linear and nonlinear differential equations.
