Bonn Set Theory Workshop 2016: Generalized Baire spaces

Registration is closed.

Date: September 21 - 22, 2016

Venue: Lipschitz lecture hall, Mathematics Center, Endenicher Allee 60, 53115 Bonn

Organizers: Peter Holy, Peter Koepke, Philipp Lücke, Philipp Schlicht

Description: Generalized descriptive set theory studies the spaces of functions f:\kappa\rightarrow\kappa for uncountable regular cardinals \kappa and the properties of their definable subsets. This is a relatively new and very active field of set theoretic research that already attracted both the interest of established set theorists and also a large number of young researchers. The aim of this workshop is to further the connections between these people and motivate directions of future research. This workshop is the third in a series of workshops on generalized descriptive set theory (Amsterdam 2014, Hamburg 2015).

The workshop programme will feature two tutorials and two longer research talks by senior speakers and research talks by junior speakers. Moreover, we want to motivate participants to stay in Bonn on the day after the workshop, on which we will provide opportunities for research collaboration.

The registration deadline is the 31st of May 2016. Junior researchers are encouraged to submit an abstract for a 30 minute contributed talk related to the topic of the workshop during registration and are also strongly encouraged to apply for financial support. Please list potential travel costs in the "Travel support inquiry" form and ask for accommodation in the "Comments" section. If you think that the organizers may not be familiar with your research, please include a short research statement. Please also indicate in your registration whether you want to stay and work in Bonn on the day after the workshop, for which we also have potential funding available.
