Growth in Topology and Number Theory: Volumes, Entropy, and L2-torsion

Brief Description

Our topic deals with the remarkable interplay seen in topology and number theory that appears under the umbrella idea of "growth". This conference would be part of a long-term aim to periodically keep conversations flowing between mathematicians from diverse areas who are seeing similar patterns in their studies of invariants relating to growth and topics such as volumes of polytopes and Riemannian manifolds, group representations and Coxeter theory,fiber-bundles and foliations, and L2-torsion. The goal is to encourage open dialogues between these disparate fields as a way to discover new insights and connections.
