Job Application Training

On May 18, 2015 the Hausdorff Center offers a special application and interview training for its postdocs

This one day training workshop is tailored to the particular needs of postdocs in mathematics. It is suitable for postdocs who wish to climb the academic ladder as well as for those who are considering a career outside of the research field.

During the training you will learn how to present yourself in the best possible way during a job interview or lecture. You will also acquire the essential skills for compiling an application portfolio that will help you to get invited for an interview in the first place.

A highly qualified expert will introduce you to all general requirements for every application process.

HCM director and member of the Junior and Senior Search Committees Prof. Dr. Karl-Theodor Sturm and HCM vice director and member of the Junior Search Committee Prof. Dr. Catharina Stroppel will explain details about the academic interview and application process to you and share their first-hands experiences on selection criteria and professional qualifications.

A recruiting officer from an internationally operating company will show you alternative career options for mathematicans outside the university and point out what you need to pay attention to if you are applying for a position in a private enterprise.

Feel free to contact Dr. Astrid Slizewski if you have any questions about the workshop.

There are no more places left for the training. But you can still register if you wish to attend - if someone cancels his or her participation we'll inform you then.
